This policy outlines the data collected and how the data is used by ourselves across our platform.
Child Protection
If you're 16 years of age or under we ask that you do not create an account with us directly, a parent or guardian will need to start the service with us. SMD does not knowingly collect data of (or provide services directly to) clients aged 16 or below and will take the relevant steps to remove such data from our systems.
What Is Collected
When creating an account within our dashboard you need to provide us with some basic personal information. The types of data include, but is not limited to:
- Full Name
- Email Address
- Phone Number (Optional)
- Billing Address
- Company Name (Optional)
- VAT Number (Optional)
- Payment Information
- IP Address
Users who checkout with Paypal should refer to Paypal's privacy policy for how their account data is processed. Users can refuse any request for information but it should be understood that we (SMD) may be unable to process certain requests without it.
How Is It Used
MyUptime will only use the data provided to us for one of the following purposes:
- To create an account within our dashboards.
- To create, modify or cancel a service with SMD
- To provide support via email, a ticket or social media channels
- To comply with / defend ourselves (and our services) in a court of law
There may be times when there is a valid reason to process this information not outlined above i.e. a new beta platform / service is launched however we will reach out to yourself first for validation before proceeding.
How Is It Stored
SMD follows industry standards to ensure protection of the data provided to us, all of the data provided to SMD resides within the EU and will not be stored or processed outside of a country that is not regulated by GDPR or GDPR-UK.
You should also remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
For How Long Is It Stored
SMD will only store user data for as long as the client has an active service with us, once the service is terminated the information gathered to process that request is terminated.
The client is responsible for closing down their account entirely via the panel.
Data Subject Requests
Clients from within the EU, UK or California can submit a data subject request at any time via a ticket.
Changes
SMD reserves the right to change this policy at any time, you should refer back to this policy periodically to check for updates.
